A.F.S.S. Fees for Services
Alaska Family Safety has established a sliding fee schedule to assist families with varying levels of income to access A.F.S.S. services.
SUPERVISED VISITATION:
Intake Fees are required in all supervised visitation cases. This fee covers administrative costs for establishing a visitation plan. The process includes an intake interview, background checks, analysis of any domestic violence protective orders, child custody and visitation orders, family safety plans, conditions of release, substance abuse issues, etc.

This must be paid upon submitting the intake application and scheduling of the intake interview.
A.F.S.S. SUPERVISED VISITATION FEE SCHEDULE:.
A.F.S.S. fees are established on a sliding scale for supervised visitation and is based upon income and other factors. Proof of income is required to qualify for reduced fees on the sliding scale. Fees for visitation must be paid no earlier than 5 business days prior to visitation. Further information about payment policies are available in the visitation agreement.

Current tax returns, pay stubs (3 months), and other proof of income from the paying party shall be required to qualify for sliding schedule fee based services. Failure to provide adequate documentation as determined by A.F.S.S. will require the hourly fee of $75.00 / hour.
DRUG & ALCOHOL SCREENING FEES:
When requested by one party, required by court order or by request from Office of Children’s Services, Guardeian Ad litem, or other agency, or when determined by A.F.S.S. as part of the Visitation Safety Plan, the following Drug and Alcohol screening fees apply. Fees for these services must be paid in advance according to the payment policy outlined in the Visitation or Exchange Agreements. Failure to provide an adequate sample of breath or saliva will not exempt the non-custodial parent from responsibility of payment of services. Multiple testing conducted will be charged at the same rate per test conducted.

Breath testing or oral fluids testing requested based upon A.F.S.S. staff observations (when not previously requested), will be the responsibility of the non-custodial parent should the test result in a presumptive positive indication for presence of alcohol or drugs. Fees shall be paid prior to any further visitation or exchange services provided by A.F.S.S. Presumptive positive results may be subject to confirmatory lab testing conducted by a third party collection site, and will be subject to medical review by a medical review officer (MRO).
